Advanced Orthopedics for Joint Replacement (AOJR) hosted their second dinner-dancing event " Boogie Nights- Keep on Dancing Part 2" at the Lounge of the Manila Polo Club last October 20, 2012 . The event was held for AOJR's arthritis and joint replacement patients to promote camaraderie, active lifestyle to improve joint motion and bone health. Furthermore, because it was so popular to patients last year the group decided to indulge their patients with a similar event.

Patients of AOJR expressed their praises at the event. "I was looking forward to this event, because we had so much fun last year." Mrs. Josefina Ramos, a patient of Dr. San Pedro candidly told Arlyn Rodriguez (AOJR's Office Manager) upon her arrival at the entrance of the Main Lounge. Mrs. Ramos had total knee replacement of her knees last May 2011. Mrs. Dalisay Cabugao, a knee replacement patient of Dr. Syquia also was a second time attendee, said that she was also excited and looked forward to the event. Mrs. Josefa de Guzman, a total hip replacement patient of Dr. Agbayani, prides herself before her amigas of having a doctor who gives her birthday cards, Christmas cards and throws events for his patients. Mrs. Remedios Alcazar, a total knee replacement patient of Dr. Ochoa boast of having worn heels to match her blue atire and also brought her own dancing instructor. She recalled when she couldn't even stand up from bed because of her osteoarthritis, but know she truly enjoys a full life because of her replaced joints.

To spice up the event and to entice patients to dance, the medical team's wives, and friend danced to the groove of the 60's& 70's. Mrs. Teresita Tambunting-Liboro a patient of Dr. Syquia performed flamengco dance. By the time the floor was given to guests to dance, all were  giddy with excitement and didn't think twice to dance when the dance instructors presented them selves. The excitement wasn't only rubed-off to patients but also to our doctors and staff, as a matter- of -fact our patients and sponsors said we should have another category which say's "Best Dancing Doctor" to award to Dr. Jose Fernando Syquia, who went around to dance with patients.

Just like last year we also picked some special patients to give special awards. This year we have " The Early Bird Award" which was given to Dr. Syquia's Patient, Mrs. Lily Dee. The "Best Dancing Couple" was given to Dr. Ochoa's patient, Mr. Dale and Ritchie Godkin, " Best Dressed " was given to Mrs. Mila Marzo, Dr. Syquia's patient and, "Best Dancing Patient" was given secon time in a row to Dr. Ochoa's patient, Mrs. Remedios Alcazar.

The AOJR team said it inspires them to see their patients happy and dancing, which proves that joint replacement is trully an amazing procedure which could change the lives of patients. It gives them the independence to do activities which they couldn't enjoy anymore with arthritis. And they also emphasized that excercise is very important to overall health, not only to our joints and bones. Their advise, keep on moving, make sure to schedule activities everyday. If your arthritis gets in the way, find ways to manage it. The team also thanked all their sponsors who made the event possible. (Click here to see more pictures)
